User Remarks – Why I Love Toad

• Attempting to manage dozens, even hundreds, of Oracle databases can be very overwhelming at times. The TOAD gui gives me instant, organized feedback on all of my databases and allows me to customize what I want to see and how I want to see it. Navigation is quick and it is fairly easy to find the options I need when I need them. I would have to use one telnet window for each database I wish to have at my fingertips and that is a cumbersome way to do business and leads to confusion and potential mistakes.
• Toad allows greater flexibility in searching for tables, views and code. It also allows for greater flexibility in viewing the database schema as well as making updates.
• It makes writing queries and troubleshooting code so much easier!
• Ease of use. The interface is AWESOME!!!!
• Everything I do, from administration of users and processes, to developing scripts and reports, is easier and faster with the support of TOAD.
• It gives me all this functionality in one tool.
• I regularly use autoreplace – sfr=select * fromI use Ctrl Enter to run a sql
• Best tool to manage Oracle database.I feel sorry for my previous co-worker who had to use sql until I introduced Toad into the company.
• It has an awesome amount of tools that can do pretty much anything that is needed.
• It lets me focus on all my databases in one place so I have less distraction. Comparisons between databases are a snap. Generating scripts from objects in dev database so they can be added to test database is a joy. Scooping out code in functions and packages to give to developers doesn't get any easier.
• It saves me a lot of time doing stuff manually, although this has also some disadvantages, like now knowing how to do things manually without Toad anymore. 😉

• It makes development easier. I can't remember anything so having the CTRL-SPACEBAR (code snippets) and the Knowledge Xpert makes coding very easy. The Schema browser with all the different features is great also.

• Toad is great! Great because it is the complete tool for accessing and managing oracle instances. The perfect fit of a tool for a DBMS.
• I use the tool about 80% of my working day!
• I'm in there about 90% of the day. If I didn't have Toad I'd be in that free Oracle provided utility which I really did try (to save money) but it was not good. Originally I needed Toad for the debugging support but of course now I use Quest Code Tester so I don't debug…right?

When I came into this position, I was given a copy of Toad and and an instruction sheet for running 88 scripts every month and then manually putting the results into a set of 8 Excel workbooks for distribution. I immediately went to work to further automate the monthly process and found TDA to be precisely what I needed.I set up the automation scripts and now all I do is hit one single button and my nails look great! • No other tool lets me work at the level of my thought-process rather than at the level of SQL, PL/SQL
• It's the only tool we used for development, research, performance tuning in our organization
• How would I ever do my job! I spend probably 5 hours/day average working in Toad. My job has never been so easy. I still find new and helpful features to do my job better.
• Toad is an amazing application. I cannot live without Toad. World without Toad is could be a world in Hell. Would take hours to complete what toad can do in a minute.
• Toad is my tool to maintain tablespaces, maintain the db objects including links, verify dbhelath check, search db objects, compile db objects, compare schemas, retrieve the scripts for different schemas, run the sql scripts etc. It is my daily job to maintain oracle databases and uses Toad as my tool.
• There are tools that Toad provides that are either not available elsewhere or aren't done as well.
• My job is so much easier with it. Yes I could use vi, yes I could use sqlplus but why? Windows 3.1 might still boot up on a pc but does that mean it's a worthwhile technology?

• I was recently given the task of removing all system-named constraints in a 1000 table database, and replacing them with meaningfully named constraints. The recent addition to Toad of suggested names for constraints, together with remembered user-defined filters, has cut down a task that was probably going to be 3 months work, down to a few days. Worth the cost of the software on its own.
• Probably the most brilliant tool I have ever used for Oracle development.
• Problem: An obscure error with a stored procedure that I had spent 8 hours trying to find. After installing the debugger into Toad I single stepped through each line of code and found the problem in less than1 minute! SQL Modeler makes it too easy. How can I continue to charge as much as I do as a contractor now that anyone can do it!!!!
• Let me express my profound gratitude at your work. This product is why I changed my perception of Oracle development. I was presented with the great Notepad and SQL Plus combo and asked to come up with application. I have used Toad only for a day and half, I can hardly believe the quantum leap in my productivity it has provided. I can not thank you enough! Keep up the great work!
