Live from the TDWI 2014 conference in San Diego, Quest announced a series of upgrades to its award-winning Toad™ data and database management solutions, including new releases of Toad Data Point, the company’s multi-platform database query tool, and Toad Intelligence Central, its collaboration server for data sharing across teams. What’s New in Toad Data Point?

Version 3.6 of Toad Data Point, Quest Software’s data access and provisioning solution, features a series of updates designed to help customers improve data quality, run faster queries across Salesforce, and save time with a simplified user interface.  

Improve data quality with new data profiling 

Toad Data Point has enabled data profiling directly in the tool so you can gain insights into data quality issues faster and easier. It enables you to assess the quality of data within your data sets to better understand the consistency and uniqueness of the data.  Just make your connection in Toad, visually build your query and then start profiling your data. Visually profile and sample database tables and data sets for patterns, unique values, duplicates, missing information, min/max values and more. 

Run faster queries across Salesforce with  improved SOQL Support

Toad Data Point Professional Edition allows you to connect to many data sources beyond traditional databases, and connect to business intelligence and cloud applications like Salesforce.com.  In this latest release, Toad has improved its support for the Salesforce query language, SOQL, enabling you to write and visually build SQL queries without being an expert in the Salesforce SOQL syntax.  

Simplified user interface and other enhancements

Toad Data Point 3.6 has been completely redesigned with an all new user interface (UI). The latest UI makes it easier to navigate Toad and includes updated toolbars, new skins for you to customize your working environment, and a new ribbon with new icons. Toad Data Point 3.6 also includes other enhancements and updated database connectors.

What’s New in Toad Intelligence Central?

Version 2.4 of Toad Intelligence Central delivers multiple enhancements aimed at simplifying administration, expanding data connectivity, and further facilitating data sharing and collaboration.

• Active Directory support – Toad Intelligence Central now supports Active Directory, as well as the use of windows credentials when connecting. This latest features simplifies administration and enables easier management of product users and teams.
• Connectivity to Dell Boomi – The newest release enables Toad Intelligence Central users to connect to even more data sources and applications through connectivity with Dell Boomi AtomSphere, Dell Software’s award-winning cloud integration platform. Building on its already robust ability to connect to many different types of traditional and non-traditional database sources, connectivity to Boomi AtomSphere further enables Toad Intelligence Central users to  map and connect to more than 75 new data sources in the cloud, and execute queries across those sources for further data provisioning in Toad.
• Access to data visualization tools. Users of leading data visualization tools, including Tableau, QlikView, and Microsoft Power BI can now connect to and access data provisioned through Toad Intelligence Central. For customers using Toad Intelligence Central in tandem with Toad Data Point, this expanded connectivity allows users to share data sets with their data visualization tools for easier provisioning and improved data governance.
